Why the Celtics messed up one of the easiest decisions

The Celtics had an easy choice when they received the 1st overall pick during the NBA Lottery. All they had to do was select the best player in the draft, Markelle Fultz. He is easily the best player as he lead the NCAA in scoring as he averaged 23 points. Suddenly, they traded the pick to the Philadelphia 76ers. Why did they do that? People are still trying to figure that out. They had the best pick in the draft and they could have had the superstar of their choice from a trade or they could have selected one with Markelle Fultz. The Celtics gave up the 1st pick for the 3rd pick, '18 Lakers pick, '19 Kings pick -- with the protections unknown at this moment. The Sixers, I think, won this trade, as of right now. Only time will tell of who really won this trade but from the looks of it, this just does not make sense.

The Celtics could have really used Markelle Fultz at SG as he could have blossomed into a true superstar when scoring the ball. With the third pick I don't know who they will select that makes sense compared to Fultz. Josh Jackson doesn't make sense because he is essentially Jaylen Brown 2.0 and Jayson Tatum is not that good. The Celtics could have also traded for Jimmy Butler or a Paul George type of player, who would have been a proven superstar and they could have actually challenged the Cavaliers. The 76ers, on the other hand, made a fantastic move as they now have a strong young core of Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Dario Saric. They also have solid, young, role players also. The Sixers will be a fun team to watch as they grow and hopefully become a competitor in the future to the Cavaliers.

As the Celtics have made a strange choice by trading their pick, the 76ers made a very aggressive move that will pay off for them as they look to make the "process" work and turn the team into some winners.
