The Hawks came out of the all-star break with what should have been an easy schedule with the Heat and Magic. Instead the Hawks lost by scores of 18 and 19. The Hawks never looked engaged defensively in both games. In the Heat game, for the 6th (6!!!!) time this season the Hawks opponent hit a season high in three pointers. The Hawks got burned by Tyler Johnson, who scored 23 off the bench. The Hawks were not really good at all in this game. In the Magic game they did the same thing and left every Orlando player open from the three point line. Terrance Ross lead the magic with 25 points,

The Hawks did show some life against the Celtics. Coach Bud saw that he needed to change something and made that change by putting Thabo Sefolosha back into the starting five after he has recovered from his injury. The Hawks strategy against the Celtics was to let any one but Isiah Thomas beat them. The Hawks were very effective in that strategy by limiting him to 19 points and breaking his 43 game streak of scoring 20 points. The Hawks and Celtics were pretty chippy as in the 3rd quarter Dwight Howard shoved former Hawk AKA the traitor Al Horford after a hard foul. It was great to see the energy and emotion as if it was a playoff series. Dwight was a beast all night and vastly outplayed Al Horford. The Hawks won the game in a rout after winning 114-98. This was a great effort by the Hawks and momentum builder with 6 home games in a row against good teams that include GSW and CLE. Lets hope the Hawks can winning.
