The Hawks were able to travel to Oklahoma City and steal a win from Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. The Hawks were without Dwight Howard (back tightness). The Hawks started out pretty strong and they were able to have a lead at the end of the 1st quarter 22-16. In the second quarter Russell Westbrook caught fire and the Thunder would take a 5-point lead at halftime, 53-48. In the third quarter the Russell Westbrook show continued as he was on his way to his 46-point performance. Luckily the Hawks were able to keep it close. They would eventually take the lead and the Hawks would be winning 81-78 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th it was a back and fourth and the Hawks actually played clutch basketball with big buckets from Dennis Schroder and Paul Millsap. Paul Millsap was able to hit the game-winning shot with 12 seconds left. The Hawks escaped with the win after a Steven Adams dunk attempt was after the buzzer sounded. Some notable scores from the Hawks were 31 points and 8 assists from Dennis Schroder. They also got 30 points and 11 rebounds from Paul Millsap
