In the Georgia vs Georgia Tech rivalry it has been favored in Georgia's direction as they have won the past 8 out of 10 but on Saturday's match-up it was the Yellow Jackets who would get the win. The game started out as Georgia had the ball and controlled the line of scrimmage early and drove the field but missed a 48-yard field goal. When Georgia Tech got the ball they started making big plays running the football and they quickly went on to lead 7-0. Then Georgia came back with a very strong drive to tie it at 7-7. Both teams made touchdown drives and went into halftime with the score being 14-14. The Bulldogs came out of halftime and played very well and at one point they were winning 27-14. It felt like the game was gonna go in Georgia's way after a 4th down stop with 10 minutes left. Sadly, they couldn't take advantage of that and had to punt the ball back to Tech. Then Georgia Tech ended up scoring with 6:28 left in the game. Georgia tried to hold the ball and convert some 1st downs to finally put Georgia Tech away and secure the win. Suddenly, a pass was behind Terry Godwin Tech was able to intercept the pass in UGA territory. They were able to waste the clock and Qua Searcy scored on a play, where it was a trick play that supposed to be a pass for Justin Thomas. It turned out to be the game-winning play and Tech won this 28-27. Georgia still leads the rivalry 65-41-5.
