![]() The Falcons loss on Sunday was a very disappointing loss that was perhaps the worst of the year. The Falcons just never looked like they wanted to be playing. They had a number of mistakes that hurt. One positive part of Sunday is that the Panthers blew a 17-point lead and the Saints lost on questionable call. The fact that these teams lost makes the NFC South the Falcons division to lose. For starters, on offense Atlanta kept getting into impossible 3rd downs. It was a constant struggle for them to stay on the field and sustain a drive. The only big, positive play was a bomb to Taylor Gabriel. Julio did have a good day that consisted of 10 catches for 135 yards but he had a number of key drops that would hurt the Falcons. Matt Ryan was pretty solid in the loss. He only had an interception which was late in the game and they were down 9. The Defense was awful. They made rookie Carson Wentz look like an old veteran. He destroyed the Falcons with short over the middle passes. The biggest story from the Eagles offense was its ability to run the ball. Ryan Matthews had 109 yards and 2 touchdowns. The interior defensive line struggled with their push against the Eagles O-Line. One bright spot was seeing the young guys, Jalen Colllins and Devondre Campbell, show out. Campbell is truly coming back after being out a couple of week with an ankle injury. He had a very strong game. Jalen Collins, who was suspended the first 4 games, had agood game with the absence of Desmond Trufant. Collins has not had a ton of playing time this year and it was nice to see him have a solid game.
