![]() By: Lucas Kochevar The Clemson Tigers won their first National Championship since 1981 with their win over Alabama 35-31. Clemson entered as the underdogs in this game. The game started off like Alabama was going to blow them out as Bo Scarbough made two runs for TDs. The Tigers responded in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own before the half. The score was 17-7 after a Crimson Tide FG after halftime. Clemson would respond as they would score a TD after a short Clemson drive. Alabama would also respond with a TD and the score was 24-14. In the 4th quarter Clemson would score 2 TDs to take the lead 28-24. Jalen Hurts would respond and score a TD on their drive and they would take the lead back 31-28. Deshaun Watson would comeback one more time after a huge pass play to Mike Williams. Clemson would score a TD with 1 second left and they would kick an onside kick that they would recover. Deshaun Watson had a great game and won Offensive MVP of the National Championship. His stats were 36/56, 420 yards, and 4 total TDs. Ben Boulware won defensive MVP. Congratulations to the Clemson Tigers on a fantastic season.
